Our prices are based upon MS Word manuscript converted to standard book page dimensions of
5.0 by 8.0 inches
5.5 by 8.5 inches
6.0 by 9.0 inches
6.14 by 9.21 inches
7.5 by 9.25 inches, or
7.44 by 9.69 inches
The price includes the following:
- Traditional typographic craftsmanship using electronic tools
- Custom interior design based upon discussion and client decisions
- Complete layout of all book pages consistent with manuscript content and designed for clarity of presentation
- Basic proofreading of submitted manuscript (editing is a vital function and is included in the interior design service -- see the Editing page). Proofreading includes spell-checking, visual inspection and human reading of every word in the manuscript, post-typesetting inspection by the designer for consistency of style, spacing, typeface usage, headline and subheadline placement
- A marked up typeset proof, provided to the client for checking of our work and addition of any required author additions, deletions or changes. One hour of revisions and changes for each 100 typeset pages is included in our base price; additional revision time required will be charged at $75 per hour
- Print-ready files for the printer.
Estimate: $3.50 to $5.00 per final book page. (Note: about 350 words per page is an accepted standard estimate for a 5.5 x 8.5-inch or a 6 x 9-inch book page).
